Historical Perspective

 

Bhiwani, a district of Haryana, is predominantly a Semi-Urban area & is also known as “Choti Kanshi” due to its religious & social culture. It is now also known as “Mini Quaba” due to excellent performance of its sports-persons at national & international level, especially in the field of boxing i.e. Capt. Hawa Singh, Bijender Singh & others. Not only in boxing, but the players of Bhiwani have also left a deep impression in the hearts of countrymen on account of their performance in wrestling, Judo, Kabbaddi & other sports events. The people of this region are by and large agrarian communities and lead their routine lives following the dictum of “Dudh Dahi Ka Khana.”

 

The Bhiwani is also well-known due to great contribution of its Charismatic leader, Former Defence Minister (Govt. of India)& Former Chief Minister (Govt. of Haryana) Chaudhary Bansi Lal Ji. His vision, spirit towards education and thrust of fighting for people decided to establish a college to cater the educational needs of deprived sections of the region. So, by taking into consideration all this matter, needs & welfare of the people, the un-tiring efforts of Ch. Bansi Lal Ji incepted a Govt. College in the year 1971 with its name “B.N.C. Government College Bhiwani”. Thespecific goal of the college is to create confidence amongst the students by creating a sense which is not only job oriented but also enables them to stand on their own feet as good citizens. The college with its rich historyof achievements is held in high esteem not only by the student’s fraternity but also by citizens in general. In the light of the fact that institute has completed 51 years of its glorious accomplishments, the college is always committed to maintain its worthiness and high esteem through a system of conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution and to promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture. The college offers graduation in six disciplines, post-graduation in five disciplines and post-graduate diploma in one discipline.
